Some great bronze players this year, haven't really looked, I just build a couple of them, they can compete against the low gold players.

And get Akinfenwa  ;D

He is really funny to use, opponents have all sorts of trouble with getting him off the ball, just pass it in, hold the ball  and wait for a good run and pass. his own runs are so slow you have all the time to get the passing right setting him up.
In need of a new goal!!

the Serie A lads:

Felipe Anderson: money well spend, very agile on the ball, great for cutting and getting that long shot. Also not too bad in crossing
Paloschi: really liking him! 11 out of 14. Always a threat. Paid 650 coins for him what a steal!
Berardi: wanted to try something else than the 'standard'ones like Candreva, etc. Great player, 3/3 stars, strong but still agile. Nice shot and great dribbling for a player with these kind of phys stats

Lulic: need to have animal. Everywhere, great all round stats, high stamina too  ;D
Parola: the King of the midfield. Passing, shooting but also defensive good. Great all round player. Will use him for a long time.
Bertolacci: never heard from him before. Bought him to sell him actually but he ended up in this team. Lefty so nice for shooting from that position too

Radu: high standing tackle, great stamina, strong links to Lulic and Anderson. Solid is the best description
Mauriclo & Jesus: the wall  ;D. Very very solid, strong, great tackling stats. Who needs Luiz & Silva  :)
Dámbriosia : undecided yet. Not standing out but solid and strong link to Jesus

Marchetti: remember the Marchetti from FUT14??? He is that good again!

Fun team to play with, low rated but solid

Nice one Glad. There are some great CM's in Serie A & that Parolo card really looks immense in midfield - for the price! Even with 70+ balance for his height.

Nice review - have used a few of them and do agree.

the Dutchy:

Elia: being a Feyenoord fan it is clear that I like him. His shooting stats do him no justice (like in RL). Agile, skillful, great for cutting and shooting. A bit weak but fast enough not to get in any man-to-man fight
IF De Jong: 99 heading  8), simply put, cross and score. Strong striker not so fast of course so you really have to get him in position. But he has a rocket shot! Can imagine that he will get a SIF so not sure if I keep the card long
El Ghazi: 4/4 stars, strong and also a kind of agile, really really liking the player. 6 out 11 is pretty decent for a winger!

Klaassen: the engine on the midfield. Wins a lot of balls, decent passing too
Fer: let down. Not as strong as previous years or may be I am expecting to much. Think I will replace him with someone more dangerous for the goal like Proper/Veijnovic
Ziyech: try this card! rating doesn't do him justice. I like him IRL too.

Willems: was a liability in the beginning but I got the hang of him now. Great combi with Elia.
Kongolo: strong, fast en keeps his position
Verbeek: see Kongolo  ;D
Van Rhijn: I tried IF Verhaegh first. But that card was just broken. He couldn't pass, nor tackle. Changed back to Van Rhijn and never looked back

Cillessen: OP goalie!

All in all a nice team to play with. Less deadly as the Serie A but winning with this team against the regular squads is very rewarding

Okey dokey, ladies and gentlemen. Some things do not change and yes, I am an FUT pauper as always. I do have this strong urge building in me to avoid using 'star' players this year or improving too much on a team, so I've decided this gold team may get one or 2 more decent players in time but for now, this is fairly complete.

Was sort of saving for Gundogan to play RCAM but I'm making a gold B team instead. IF Jonas might be nice up top but I can't see me making a spare 80k in match coins any time soon. Kruse is pretty damn useful there tho, he has the qualities I was after in that he can jink and pass, finding the runners from midfield, good finisher too. Had Gomez and Klose but neither moved well enough on the ball to satisfy me and 4-5-1 is crap for crosses anyway.
Did build this team for Meyer but he's very light, currently trying Arslan on the left with Marin moving to the right. Had Castro at CM but the age old 4-5-1 problem with that position breaking forward all the time is as present as ever, so I've put Baier in. He's bigger, stronger and M/H, still gets forward but is a little better at holding the middle and has even scored a couple goals on his attacking forays. Candreva is the 'marquee' signing, he's good but really, he doesn't do much more for the team than anyone else. Dszudsak on the left contributes just as much.
The gems.
Erkin. This guy has been a bit of a revelation. Excellent going forward as well as seeming to be a quick, strong and able defender. I use him to overlap the 2 guys in front of him a fair bit and he's got enough about him to be effective around the opposition box too.
Marin. Lightweight is not the word... But he's so nimble, gets forward well and scores goals for me, something I still struggle with. Seems to have a talent for slipping defensive nets.
Subotic/Toprak. Nothing new here, classic sturdy CB pairing from years past.

The Bronzes.

Been using this lot in singles as reserve to the golds. They're good but I struggle with people dribbling into the box from the byline at the best of times and going up against gold teams with them all the time really doesn't do these any favours. Embarrassed a fair few teams tho and scored quite a number of goals against 80 rated sides, which is always fun.
Made the team to basically try and get a load of these top dribbling bronzes in one side. Did not know at that point that strength was going to be such a big factor...
The gems
Ryu Seung Woo. This guy has been awesome, even gold defences can't pin him down. Links well, finishes chances regularly and is just a royal pain in the backside for the opposition when I eventually manage to get the ball up that end of the pitch.
Vladlen Yurchenko. Brilliant bronze CAM. Obvious qualities on the ball but he's a big lad and scores goals too.
Moussa Sao. Pace of course. But also decent on the dribble and he's really quite tall. A valuable outlet. Oh and he apparently has a 5* weak foot, tho his strong foot ain't really that strong...

Another dribble-tastic bronze hybrid build but with added longshotability. A defensive concession in that German CDM. Been sort of wanting to replace him then suddenly he spanked in the only outrageous long shot I've scored so far this year. He's not even one of the long shotters. Smh.
The gems
Moreno Costanzo. Probably the bronze I'm most happy with. I actually got him with my starter team and ignored him. Was going through discarding rubbish when I suddenly clocked his stats, went and looked him up on FUThead and immediately built a side round him. For a CDM he's a bit crap at defending but he's fantastic in every other way, his free kicks are pretty lethal against bronze keepers as well.
Samed Yesil. Really starting to come alive for me and I'm almost able to tell the difference between him and Fandrich now. Basically, Yesil will be the one who shrugs past defenders and boots the ball in the back of the net. Fandrich will glide about beautifully then fall over or get booked.

This was the team I finally got around to building with strength in mind. The midfield are decent all-rounders with a bit of physicality. Not used them much yet but it seems a decent, well balanced team. Striker is another dribbler/passer/finisher in the mold of Kruse in the gold team, for the same reasons.
The gems
Diego.
Pace, dribbling, shooting. Early to tell but could be an FUT16 bronze favourite in the mold of Kandji/Kielb from previous years. He's been possibly my most dangerous attacker in all 3 of these teams.
Pablo. Great on the ball, good passer, can't shoot but can tackle a little bit. Easily the pick of the midfield 3 so far.
Kevin Larsen. Proper tank of a CB, he's a threat on corners on top of that and can also spank a free kick. Scored a screamer from 30yds on his debut and buried a bullet header in the 2nd game, he's a keeper. Previous Nowegian bronze CB go-to, Wangberg, is just Larsens sidekick.

Bit fed up of playing well and still losing against gold teams with that 352 so currently building a gold 4321 around a soon to be new marquee signing, Thiago Alcantara. Just really trying to hold my patience so I can pick him up for less than 25k during TOTW tomorrow....

Good review Glad. Have been hesitant to use Cillessen but may just do so now :D.

Cuz - can't comment on them bronzes (nothing new here :D) ... Erkin is definitely a good one! Did get some positive results from 451 at the start - was actually very potent! Like you say, that CM will just never stay back ::).

Not had much playing time with Bundes players as yet, but the 2 non-rare golds midfielders we used - Trochowski & Arnold - were good too. Both are definitely more attacking CM's with their long shots stats - better on Arnold. Arnold is bigger but his WR's for that CM slot won't be the best.

What I have been trying to incorporate in our teams, is a higher balance stat. Anything over 1.78m tall must have 70+ balance. This is obviously for the midfield and forwards. Likes of Bonaventura (1.80m with 76 balance) Parolo (1.86 / 71) Pjanic (1.80 / 78) and the favourite CAM so far - Hernanes (1.80 / 78). These all feel better as they have higher dribbling/ball control stats, together with great passing stats too.

Something like this, together with trying to get a 'balance' in the team, seems far more important now. Tried Reus-Robben as strikers with Muller behind them (supposed to Thiago but needed the chem for Reus). Muller outshone both 'strikers' - they felt weak, shooting was off, blha blah. Maybe the 7 chem is just not enough, or - personally my thought - the balance of the team was off and led to them feeling worse, whilst expecting plenty from the expensive/high-rated players.

Even moving them to a 3421 front line did nothing. Out the club they went & will have to try them again when we look at a 433 variant again.

Interesting, Kiwi. I remember on 13, balance was a key stat I looked at and I've been doing it with these players too. Not so much the 1st stat I look at or judge by but certainly if they have high balance, I know they'll feel good to use. That said, if they have poor balance but good stats elsewhere, I'll ignore it.
Marin has excellent balance btw, I think it's his best stat maybe.

I just now built a bronze team based on long shot beastiness!
Total cost of oooo, 2k tops. Couple CDM-CM cards will double that, lol. This is one of the things I love about bronzes, top players at rock bottom prices, good for trying stuff. Not that you'd ever find a game in the bronze cup, Kiwi...

Will be an interesting exercise in pacelessness and also the 4312. Also, weird unbalanced WRs.
CAM and L/RCMs have long shot stats in the 80s, which is stupendous at this level. CMs also have appropriate inside foots.
Ouedraogo and Seidl were immense on 13. Could've have had Sikorski, who was too, but he looks a bit rubbish this year.

@ Cuz: I liked Kruse a lot in the demo. Seems like a all balanced player, very well suited for the Striker position in 451 or CF in 4411.

@ Cuz II: ah those bronse teams! Since I had so many difficulties in finding a game in FUT15 I more or less quited. Especially since whenever you finally got connected to an opponent in 95% of all cases you were staring into the face of an over-paced (is that even possible?) MLS team.

@ Cuz III:Quadrago is now a striker????? Wow....

@ all  ;D: never looked that much at balance but will have a second look at it. It does make sense what you guys are saying

Ouedraogo was a striker in UT13, a really good one. Look forward to seeing what he's like now, he has similar stats to then.

Noticed the other day that Kruse is left footed, which would make him an excellent RCAM in that 451. Just need to save a ton of coins for Muller now then....

I don't have too much trouble with the wingers holding back in 451. I think mainly because I use the full backs on the overlap into the channel and then the 2 mids on that side sort of hold the ball and work each other into the space. I'd quite like it if the wide men had their strong foot on the inside because with the possession I work on the flanks, I get them coming inside a fair bit. CAM and full back can draw defenders and create space there for a run in and shot. Always concious of being on the weak foot tho so I tend to delay and faff about before shooting with them, hence not too many goals from there.
That CM thing, I've wondered whether using a pair of CAMs with defensive strengths and high defensive WR in combination with attacking CM/full backs/wide mids would make for a useful set up....
I remember Tevez being an almighty LCAM back on 12, I think it was.

Not really in a position to post pictures of teams at the moment, will try to update later.  But I have two teams and this is how they line up (normally)

Serie A 4231

Morata
Felipe Anderson-Hernanes-Candreva
Allan-Felipe Melo
Radu-Jesus-Mauricio-Florenzi
Lopez

Quick review:  Enjoying the formation, this has been my go to team in ascent through divisions and working well so far.   Hernanes is clubs top scorer and despite lack of pace always finds the position to score.   Special mention for De Guzman who is backup CAM who is an excellent deputy and scored couple fks as well.   Really enjoy Anderson and Candreva, very good players on the wing.   Lopez is excellent in goals too, really good.

Upgrades:  Probably part with coins for Alex Sandro at LB and have urge to get Higuain into the team.  Although also keen to get Guarin into the CDM position too.   Not too mention Miranda or Barzagli at the back, Lichsteiner at RB.

2nd team:

Primeira Liga 433 (4)

Varela-Aboubakar-Carillo
Andre (IF)-Taarabt-Herrerra
Jefferson-Indi-Maicon-Perreira
Julio Cesar

Quick Review:  surprised me by how good this lot are.  Aboubakar is for want of a better word... a beast.   IF Andre, my first and only IF so far, is class, dictates the midfield and just an all round good player for only 13k.   Julio Cesar has been pretty exceptional too.   Needless to say the super fast wingers have also been pretty good thus far.   Also got some good backup players.  Slimani up front is a unit, he's huge and good in the air.   Pizzi, the backup CAM is a solid player too.   Never used to be a big fan of 433 but seems to work really well with this setup, plenty of passing options and always carrys a threat.

Upgrades:  not much to be done at the moment but rumours of an IF Slimani who apparently got a hat-trick at weekend would be a card i'd have to get.

funny Eric I have just build a similar team:

IF Slimani is almost a certainty , shame for Jefferson as he got 3 assists in that game. Those shooting stats on Jefferson are insane. Will try this team next week.

Very nice Glad.   I build my portugese team to replace my very first team which was a super lig one.  Wasnt sure what to expect from them in seasons but they won something like 4 of first 5 games I used them in.

I think you will like IF Andre, feels like a good IF lively in the midfield, good tackles and accurate passing.   He's a fav already.   I looked at IF Jonas but way too expensive at 100k.   Why no Aboubakar?   I got Slimani as my backup striker and he's fun to use, bit like Mandzukic in that he wins most headers.   Totally different from past Fifa's when the defenders won every header from goal kicks.   I'll def have to get his IF assuming it comes.   Hopefully be reasonably priced if the TOTW includes Aguero (which it will)

If your GK doesn't cut it be sure to give Cesar a go, he's been really good for me.  Same with CB's, have found Maicon to be really good as well.

I need to try Imbula too, for some reason I didn't pick him up when assembling the team.

ouch, indeed, saw that they adjusted teh pricing of Jonas to 100K  ::). Big chance that he will get an SIF, but I didn't find his upgrade that appealing:+ 2 shooting, +2 finishing only some nice physics upgrade. Not worth 100K at least IMO

Did you had alook Danilo Pereiro? Looks like a great CDM (1,88 high, M/H workrates)

I will have a look aboubakar

Hadn't noticed that guy yet.  As I'm using 433 (4) i've got 2 CM spots and 1 CAM.   So for the CM spots I've got IF Andre, Herrera, Mario (has nice stats) and Carvalho.    Nice physical stats on that player, i imagine will be quite similar to Carvalho but i will look into it.   Not used Carvalho much yet to have an opinion on his abilities.

I've to build a new team later, already have IF Andre, IF Slimani hopefully will be cheap, plus there's bound to be a winger from an obscure nation in the Portuguese league, or a small club with a random gold player in that league as well.
