What's everyones take on this

Do you think Icon's are replacing Legends or an addition and if so does this mean that PS will only have new Icon's and not the past years legends ??

From what I've heard its just a rebranding of the legends. Both consoles will now be the same as the 4 year exclusive deal with Xbox has now expired.

If I do get it, it'll be the standard version. Not messing with the 'free' packs versions. Nice to have R9 in the game though

From the ea play event. Looks pretty much the same. Slight tweaks promising better performance *cough bull$hit cough*

Delay to be a thing of the past...... allegedly  :-\

The journey pt 2. Meh. Alex hunter can go take a dump elsewhere for me. Uninteresting. Its a football game ffs, not an episode of footballers wifes

4 New icons announced on Monday

its been a while, how is everybody? hope all is well ...

heard of those icons, and the first 5 are maradona, ronaldo nazario, pele, zidane and henry.
guess those are replacing legends and will be x platform.

i would love to have those in the kick off mode tough, as i do play in a local fifa draft league.

next year, i might dive back into the fut, but all those 40 games a weekend thing is too much for me. no time !

Just checked the e-mails and I got the beta code.  Starts tomorrow at 5pm, so will see if there is any fuss to report.

Will stick on here any notable screen grabs or vids

Best to start a thread in the members only section just in case I'd say.

So ... Demo time.

Firstly, took a WHOPPING 12 hours to download the 7.3GB. Shockingly slow! Yep, I have pretty high expectations, given we download at around 25MB/s. Obviously someone was throttling so it was effectively 150KB/s. Not sure what was going on there.

Kid and I played a bit of 1v1 and it was ... ok. Looks terrific ... no, freakin' amazing! Some cool animations or player likeness. But overall, it's just another release of FIFA to me.

We laughed at the same old crap - typical dodgy goals were there, weird keepers as normal, some passes going weird. Just your normal, average day in the life of EA's flagship product.

Some cool things were certainly there, but simply the crap of ... every time you finish a game, you see the 'what's new' ... over, and over, and over, and over again. I've read it once - you don't need to shove it in my face. Honestly you just get this impression they're SO focused on delinquent ADD 12 year olds that need to see this sh!t every time they end a game. Tw@ts.

Me dreaming ... EA release a version where it's TOTW 2017-09-14 ... (or 13th wherever you are) ... and just keep releasing them so there's no need to keep getting the next release ...

I am really looking forward to FIFA18. First of all ProClubs with some buddies. They are **** (some playing more than 1100 games) Have joint them a couple of times and we went from div 10 to 1 in a couple of months and won again to 8..back to 2, down to 5 back to 1 and so on...but all the crap you encounter is so easy to deal with with some good laughs with friends.

And FUT, I always like the first 2 months when not every exploit is know yet, and you encounter some interesting starting teams. The moment regular BPL **** starts kicking in it is hard to keep up again.

So ... the Web App has released.

Firstly, "loyalty packs" = shove it EA. Same crappy packs as everyone else ... where's the f*&cking loyalty in that.

Then, the interface ... within approx 5 min I'd dropped my first f-bomb. I seriously have no idea how and what idiots they have, that develop the interface. It could be SO MUCH BETTER. But no, their use of real estate on the screen is pathetic. Dimwitted morons ... whoever designed that.

Within 10 min I'd closed it and moved on. Was tempted to buy 12k FP on 17 and see if it transferred over on the web app. Nope - not going to bother. If there are possibly more loyalty packs when the game is launched 'proper', then may consider it.

Given I don't buy games often, I've always spent plenty on FIFA (past 2 years has averaged $3-4k). This once again shows that EA just does not have a freakin' clue. I'll be spending big on PC upgrades and Star Citizen this year. As a kickstarter into huge backing ($159M+ / 1.8M+ backers), I absolutely love how they treat their community.

EA can seriously go f%&k themselves this year. I'll play ... but only with whatever crap I earn from pre-order packs, SBC's, etc.

I got nothing at all in my packs, but managed to get Fernando Torres in one of the easy SBC packs. Not that great, if only it was about eight years ago, then I'd be ok!

Yeah Glad ... utter disgrace.

Honestly, Star Citizen (my key reference vs FIFA), I'm an annual subscriber too, so get some really cool little additions every month - they call it 'flair'. I know it's only virtual, but hey - so is gathering cards in FUT.

Basically I get a ton of benefits for my "loyalty" ...

Even on a/c # 2 - played many, many weekend leagues on that one ... no 2x Gold packs.

This company is a f*&king disgrace.
