FIFA 20
« on: September 21, 2019, 09:09:02 pm »
Not getting it so nothing from me this year. 19 was so bad gameplay wise that I haven't touched FIFA apart from an hour on the beta, for 3 months. Normally I would be excited to get back in, back 19 has finished it. No wish to sink untold hours into this again.
Who knows, maybe I'll play it again one day, maybe when the PS5 comes, but for now I'm playing Football Manager and Fortnite. Also have Red Dead 2 that I barely played last year and Skyrim I bought ages ago and haven't touched (since the PS3), but for now I have no interest in FIFA at all.

Can imagine. We did buy it. Couple of weeks FUT and than over to pro clubs. Last one is still loads of fun.

Proclubs is always fun if you have a good group to regularly play with. Unfortunately mine lost interest with 18. Now mine is gone too sadly. Game is so stale.

We made it a couple of times to div1. But to be honest, it is more about the fun than the winning. We have a group of around 10 people.

We used to be able to win division 1. Had some good players. A shame it fizzled out really.
Hearing good things about 20, but still not tempted.

Hearing a lot of people saying it's the best for a very long time, but we are well aware of how EA like to butcher the game within a week normally!

Well up until now it is indeed a great game! Sure you have your strange bounces, deflections and players that just not go where you want them but I feel more in control than ever. Still early to judge but the game kerps drawing me in...

Finding it to be the worst FIFA yet.  And I thought 19 was bad (which I skipped in the end, sticking with 18).

Went halves on it with my lad, so it didn't cost me too much.

All about the pace and the press once again it seems... defenders not getting near the quicker attackers, and my defenders losing out constantly to the high press.

And the people I've played seem to have figured out already the win strategy for this season... and I don't have the time or inclination.

It is such a shame they have destroyed what was once a great game.

Seems to be exactly the same thing again as the past few years. No tournaments means that there's no reason to use 99% of the database, and once you get to a certain level in rivals, it quickly gets boring very quickly. Then what is there to do? Sure there are the objectives, but doing these against stacked sweat teams in rivals will soon be anything but fun once weekend League rewards start being claimed and everyone has millions of coins very quickly.
If there were tournaments again I may have bought it, but once the glitches in game become known it will die quickly I think.

I'm enjoying FM, with a Barnet save where I've got from National League to Championship, and a save in the Greek Leagues, where I've taken over a newly promoted team in the second season and am only allowed new players from my youth academy and nowhere else. Took over Olympiakos Volou and just starting my second season in charge, after missing promotion on the final day. Trying to integrate a few youth players who are semi ready as I have a lot of players into their 30s in my squad, and will probably start to struggle once they decline or retire. Am looking to undertake the most popular challenges off the FM forums to manage in a  varied amount of leagues!
Also playing a lot of Fortnite and having fun. Last couple of updates seem to have improved the game a lot after a very disappointing first three quarters of Season 10.

Not missing FIFA at all.

Played 60 games and after a bumpy start I really enjoy it. After years I am.back into FUT!

Biggest difference with previous version is for me the feeling that you actually control the players again. Pace is still an issue but not so dominant as it used to be. High pressure is annoying, still is, but most of the time I can play out of it. Leaving my opponent exposed.

Happy days!
