Last weekend I played a real decent opponent with a super team first match, with red Ibra at striker. After that it was the standard generic Premier League teams mostly. Nearly always the same team. A defence of Shaw, Bailly, Smalling, Walker with Butland behind. Kante will be in the midfield with Martial, Musa, Vardy, Mane or some combination of. You'll play that A LOT! When I went on a 10 match out of 11 win streak, the better players started to appear. Lots of red, high rated players, one with 8 in one team. More likely than not elite monthly players. Still don't think I faced a single Ronaldo, Messi, Neymar last weekend but the Smalling abd Kante's probably 3 or 4 games out if at the very least!

I see it from 2 perspectives - look, the kid is good - main thing is composure. First few WL's, he wasn't, and easily frustrated by teams going up a goal then going either PTB or very low defensive settings. Makes it an absolute pain to watch too. Now, I've seen him go down 20% of the times, he easily comes back and wins. This past weekend again - a 15-win streak and another 16-win streak. Stupidly he continued playing when he should have taken a break & lost the last 3 of 4 games - could have been another 38-2 weekend.

So, for me the "continue to play" attitude - either out of frustration to get a win or "just wanna finish" - that's a difficult one. In the back of your mind you have this "20-games-a-day for 2 days" mentality that sets. This is for you guys & what I see on the dark side - easier this side as it's Friday 8PM start which means the kid can get 5, sometimes 8 games out the way.

How you battle that fatigue, is an important one.

Then, with me playing the 2nd account, I have an incredibly low expectation as the team has some quality, but it certainly lacks big name players. Not wanting to spend too much on fitness cards, also makes it a case of using 2 teams which is a massive liability. You just cannot get the consistency that others have that are using 1 team. And you're right Eric (also Simmo you commented a few days back) - you find yourself losing to people that are not good. Simple. But, either the noobish OP players, or the monstrously expensive teams give them that advantage. At times I'm wishing I can bring over a few of the big guns from the main account - would easily guarantee a 2/3 wins (in the opening 10).

Ah ... this reminds me of another aspect that you need to consider. I see a lot of people saying that they are 9-1 and then find themselves at 10-10. How could that be??? Remember this is bound to happen - you pretty much going to play better people, the better your record is. Not better skill-wise, but better at winning! Frustrates me that you get to play these players that abuse the game in some way, scoring headers with Sterling & Giovinco ... ::) :D

Well ... no "FUT Champs" ... so headed off to Seasons in a long time. Post patch - 5 bars for latency ... first game = max 2 red bars ::).  Ok, try again ... similar story.

After 4/5 connection attempts, finally got a game to play. This was in D2 - think the kid had played previously - record was 4-0-3. WLW ... the loss was a disconnect from EA. Now this is getting quite tedious.

Played a few more after promotion ... Finished on 2-0-2, but there was a disconnect for one of my opponents - score was 0-0 so that was just a waste of time. I myself had ANOTHER disconnect ... Wow.

Seems like it's the general theme these days - how many games can you play before you get disconnected?!?! ::).

okay long post ahead.....  :o

After months I made my return into the FUT arena. I had around 700K in coins (did trade/SBC challenges and was a coupe of time lucky with a pull). So I cleaned the club, transferred around 250K to the youngest who plays every day and focused on two teams, Eredivisie (of course) and Serie A. Started to play last week with the teams (without any TOTS) and boy that was hard! I am in division 8 .... ::), but I had trouble defending against zig zag players, and even 'normal' playing gamers. I draw, lost, draw, lost, etc. 60% my own fault, I played like a noob. But being out there for a long time also opens your eyes on the problems the engine has. Very unfair game. And players that wander around in the field. I had my RW playing centre for no reason...

Although the result where unsatisfying, I started to play better and better, 92% passing accuracy is not bad of course but I am having troubles creating chances in the 4312 formation. A formation I played so long. Don't understand what I am doing wrong. The other formation I am using is 4231 (2) and I create more chances with this formation despite the fact that my striker sometimes feels isolated.

On Friday I invested my coins in eredivisie TOTS and a 84 rated El Shaarawy (don't know the name of that card). I played two more games, lost both but was playing much better, Especially defending went better. But.....due to all my losses I ended up with regulation to division 9....I feel NOOB now  :-\ but can care less  ;D. Last game I got a red card, my sliding was on the ball from the side. No idea what happened there. Lost 4-2 (2 balls bounced back from my keeper right in the feet of his striker...) But at least TOTS Elia and MOTM Traore scored on their debut  :D

Currently on business trip, but back in the saddle on Friday. Starting in division 9 and hoping on some better results.  :P

FUT champions is a long way, may be next year. But I will keep you updated on my struggle  :D

Can't imagine what it must be like getting back into it, mate. Such a variety of different opponents - a number with stacked teams - trying to exploit whatever flaw/weakness they can.

Good luck with that journey! ;D

No WL for me of course byt I finished my first season since months. After regelation I got promotion back to div 8 ( I know...) with 1 loss and 5 victories. Not bad.

Scored a very nice screamer with DeRossi. A celebration as this is the 6th year I am using him 😀

Two names for you guys:
Musa : seems to be in every  cheap BPL team. Lucky for me they always use him the same...

Butland: WTF? Brings back Cech memories. I have a very hard time scoring against him. He makes some saves....

84 rated El Sharaawy : amazing card!!!!

Up to a new run in div 8 😊

Butland has games where he makes Fifa 14 Cech look like a bronze! Can be unbeatable at times. The amount of weekend league games I've lost where I've had double figure shots on goal and the opponent score with their only one is at least double figures.

Just played a draft and won it for the first time ever. The new 98 Ronaldo scored six goals to win me the final. Also notable thing was that my keeper didn't save a single shot in four games! Results were 2-1, 2-1, 3-2 and 7-2. Never use Rulli with his grey tracksuit bottoms!
Packs weren't great. Made the coins back but little more than that.

Back down in div 3, played a good player this morning and he rightly beat me 2-1. Messaged him saying gg, and asked him how is he in div 3 (being very good n all).  Turned out he was in div 1 and got matched up with me. How??????

Talk About unfair. Maybe that explains some of the ridiculous results at times. I always put it down to a good player who casually plays seasons and is going up the divisions, not a regular div 1 player matched up against 'lower tier' opposition

1st crack at marquinios 2nd game in. Decent player. Go 2 up from 2 of the luckiest pen decisions. Messaged the guy at ht, saying sorry. 2nd half my players obviously had a few pints celebrating. 4 rapid fire goals later and I'm out.

Total feeling of inevitability.  Eaids... it's in the game  ???

Been like this in clubs for years once in Div 3 you are matched div 1 - 3 gives you a better chance of getting a game.

Been playing only a couple of days a week recently. Had a day off on Thursday so played a good few games. With Division 1 broken, I played single matches, which are absolutely horrendous. Really can be worse than the worst weekend league! Won a few, lost a few and quit out a few. Who wants to play full attribute card teams that pause at kick off at this stage?!

Had another session on Sunday. With divisions fixed, started another Division 1 season. First game was an easy 3-0 win, but the second was very interesting! Guy was playing some crazy high pressure stuff and I went into half time 1-0 down and with more shots on my goal than I had created. I managed to keep in the game and on 73 minutes, instead of a player torpedoing at me, the opponent kept backing off me, expecting a through ball probably. He let me come to within 25 yards so I just smashed it with IF Bale and it flew in.
Not long after I got a good bit of possession in his half and he started sliding like mad. The ball ended up out wide and I crossed it in and 91 Isco got in front of his player and headed it in. Fuse lit! The guy completely lost it! In the strongest Manchester accent he started going crazy. About daylight robbery and that I was a c##t ect. He started sliding constantly so I started passing it around him. A few balls wrong my defence and a few full pauses, just to listen at his complete loss of sanity! Tried to score at the very end to shush and maybe dab him and cause him to combust but I messed it up. Expected a lot of messages after the final whistle, but none came. Probably his controller and possibly console were probably in small pieces! Very pleasant guy.

After that made a couple of my teams with three random players chosen off Futheads randomiser. One team got Christian Eriksen, Alberto Aquilani and a Russian CDM, Yusupov. Made a nice little 433(5) team with the very slow defence of the Berezytskiy brothers!
The second team ended up as a 3421 which was the best to fit in Manolo Gabbiadini, the Argentine La Liga CB Roncaglia, and the Canadian CDM from the Turkish League, Attiba Hutchinson. Went for the Napoli version of Gabbiadini who gave a perfect link to my Futchamps Insigne.

My intention is to play a number of games with each team and keep a track of the scorers and assisters and figure out some sort of score system weighted towards the three random picks. That Eriksen has scored five and assisted three in the first two games with that team could mean I rack up a huge score!

Played two more games last night, one with each team. Won both and Eriksen is up to seven goals and four assists in just three games!

Good one!

Been having fun with full NT's. Trying to build the best 3 atb team that I can ... within the constraints of funds remaining ... Will post them when I have a chance.

Have played 10 games with the two three random player teams and won every single one. Only been playing two maximum at a time. In the five games with 89 Eriksen at false 9, he scored 11 (with a minimum two per game) and assisted four. Also had fun with the 3421 team, absolutely tearing apart a full Brazil special card team in the final game.
Just waiting for next Tuesday and the year long grind and build up to getting as many coins together for TOTS again and the time when I can basically make whatever team I want! Same tactics as this year. Get as many discard IF/special cards as possible and use them until worth an inflated amount due to SBC's or upgrade hype or whatever. Also won't be selling anything worth discard at all, and hitting bronze 400 coin packs again constantly until next April, putting all duplicates into the bronze upgrade and keeping all other discard players until needed for sbc's or silver MCTOTS.

Kind of looking forward to it but it'll probably be a painful two months of getting destroyed regularly until everything clicks around late November/December sort of time. That's the usual at the start of every FIFA for me.
Not looking forward to Premier League cheap OP player squads constantly with whatever exploits work constantly though. At least until I work out how to deal with them!
