Hagi ... used him last back in '15 I think, and overall he's a great CAM. He ended up on 30 goals and 23 assists, from the 50 games. Again, plenty of quits in there so not the best to look purely at stats.

Probably not worth the 700k+ if I have to be honest - he is in there for chem purposes and was a filler for the weekend. I think Pjanic has done a great job and more than comparable to Hagi - at 100k he's a bargain if I have to compare :D.

I would put others higher up the list if I was looking to try them - but this is given the fact we have tried them in previous releases.

Thanks Kiwi. I am using the 88 Rui Costa. He is great but as you say not sure if the price tag is worth it. Still it is great fun to play with him.

Think the strikers is a different story. Their finishing and shot power are outrageous

Yeah - agreed on the strikers. There's not many that have the likes of what MvB has - height, good strength, very good dribbling (for the height) and even decent balance.

It's pretty sad that the 89 version is not too far off the 93 - would be surprised if you really feel the difference in-game. Small bits on the 91 is a bit off-putting.

Last night, finished games later than usual. Tried the DKT tournament - I should really rename the whole FUT Champions experience to an "am I insane" experience.

But yep, 3rd time round qualified again. What's going to be worse this weekend, is the fact that we have a house-warming (at our house) on Saturday, so the majority of games will be played on Sunday. Great!

Back to the DKT, first attempt lost in the final - penalties. Ping-pong affair - 4-4 at FT and my PK's are pretty poor at the moment. Last year (without the trainer - promise ;D) I probably won 85% of games that went to PK - the kid would hand off to me when he played. Now, you can do the same thing one after the other - one goes straight down the line and the other is wide - metre past the post. Have done the skill games - has not helped.

Anyhoo ... 2nd attempt was a QF nightmare - down 0-4 within 25 min ... just "one of those". Kept playing and started a new one, got a few RQ's and then the semi was a walkover. Up 4-0 after 25 min-ish myself, the guy kept playing though and won 6-1.

The Final ... was "quite frustrating" ... down to 2 Son goals after 16 min - one a rebound (yeah, whatever!) and another a dismal failed attempt at clearing the ball by a CB. I thought at that point I would switch off and move on, but his celebration made me play on. I scored shortly after HT, only to concede within a few minutes again. ARRGGH! Played on - again - after THAT celebration.

When Zaza scored the winner 3 minutes from time, I paused twice and breathed in and out - switched to defensive and hogged the ball till the end. Ended at 11:30 and struggled to sleep and now feel even older this morning ;D :D

Also, just on the whole goal-scoring bit ... I had 2 x 8-5 games (both won) this weekend. I read on the dark side about some people saying that certain games are "so slow and boring". I do get that some games are indeed like that but the majority of games are such a goal-fest it's also partly the reason why am I think the experience sucks. Too many goals just makes it even more of a lottery.

But, I guess EA just has to keep feeding those delinquents goals galore, else they won't spend $$.

Oh ... did not use the OP team last night - used this primarily:

Loving the front 3!
Pereiro ... great, great card! Big guy with plenty shot power and long shots, makes for some rippers. 8 in 7 with 1 assist. Yes, a CAM with 1 assist because I don't pass too often with him. Feels a lot better than 61 balance - must be that Catalyst chem style ;). Seriously, he's got all the right stats in the right places.
Lozano ... Pace galore of course, but a great finisher - must say. 8 in 7 with 7 assists.
Locadia ... had him for a while now but used him as a sub plenty times. Overall his stats are 44 games with 21 goals and 21 assists. I'm pretty sure the 7 games in this team meant that he'd have the same stats as the other 2.

On the back 3 ... man, what OP CB's. Sure, a bit rough when it comes to ball control/passing - need to be careful on that front. Certainly handy not spending coins on the likes of Boateng, Sokratis and Hummels.

Hmmm ... haven't thought about that as yet. Do agree, that would be an awesome card.

interesting card ; Vogt. Need to give it a try too

What do you think of IF aranguiz? For me he has played godly ; played 111 games with him, 40 goals and a whoopie 45 assists.

Haven't used him enough Glad (34 games) but bought him early as I loved his NIF back in '16.

I don't hit long shots too well with him and therefore restrict the amount of times I shoot.

Had one of those days on Fifa yesterday. Wasn't on work so had time to play the tournament. Wished I hadn't. Was playing some terrible stuff. Got to a couple of finals but just kept losing stupid games. If it was the weekend league I probably wouldn't have even got ten wins the way I was playing! Used up all the attempts so have to win it in the more limited time I have tonight and tomorrow night if I want to play the weekend league this weekend.
Marquee Matchups though may have given me something that could help in this mission......

To be honest though, I won't be heartbroken to miss out!

Had one attempt at the dkt last night. Got to the final, but didn't enjoy any of it. Just not enjoying the game at the moment. Just a slog through the heavily AI influenced mess this game has become. Playing this game at the moment I feel what I felt playing Fifa 13 in the March of that games cycle. I have seven attempts left to make the weekend league but at the moment I couldn't care less. Not working after today, so would have plenty of time but 40 games of that against pacey 4321s all playing exactly the same way and dreadful random gameplay and stupid idiotic bounces to gift pathetic goals? Just don't want to inflict that on myself.

Having way too much fun on Fortnite at the moment. Have four squads and three duos wins, but no solos yet. Best was a second play. Yesterday though I almost won a duos after my team mate died very quickly, but survived until the very end so that it was me vs another lone guy, but he had much better health and survived a big shotgun blast. Really liking the tactical play, and as I am not the best at gun fights, I seem to have become decent at getting around the map without being detected. So much fun for a free game.

So last night made an attempt to make the weekend league (Why?!). First go, walked to the final, although it was mostly dreadful crap game play as ever. Came up against a Top 100 player with four Icons and four red Futchamps players. That was the end of that.
First round of the second attempt, this time a team with three icons. He rage quit at 2-0 down after 6 minutes! Second round, four icons! The guy totally outplayed me but this is the mess that is Fifa 18 so of course I won 3-2 with two 90th minute goals. The semi final was easy, but the final, I again got completely outplayed. It was deja vu though and two more 90th minute goals gave me a 2-0 win. The final shot count was 18-4 to the opponent. This game seriously!

Less said about how weekend league has gone so far the better. 4-9!
Not enjoying it one bit. Some of the absolute joke gameplay I've witnessed earlier takes some believing! Players, when the game decides, can't make a three yard pass in the direction they're facing or it just plays it in a totally different nonsensical direction, opponent scores from the counter. You can get taken out from behind and of course, the opponent scores from the counter. This year more than every before, the game is being manipulated by the AI. It's so, so bad.

I've switched back to 4231(2) and have picked up a couple of wins after being 2-8 with 352. So many times my defence was completely AWOL for no apparent reason at all, apart from the AI deciding it was time for the opposition to have a chance. The game is a complete and utter joke right now.

This video was posted on the dark side the other day. Think it got deleted. Apply what it says to Fifa and it goes a long way to explaining the mess of a game we now have.

Add that to the quotes that the Fifa Creative Director was spouting recently and there you go.

Have recovered things a bit. Have gone from 5-12 to 10-14 this morning. Three clean sheets in a row helped matters.
Have made a huge huge signing. In comes Dennis Bergkamp which means it's time to play false 9 again! Need 8 wins from 16 games. Fully expect it to come down to the very last match..........
