nice one TWS! Played against that Carvalho and he was difficult to get by on teh midfield...

William Carvalho is a very good player on this game. Well worth putting in a team.

Meireles also has that epic beard going on.
Well played man.

Thanks, unfortunately he doesn't have the beard in game. He has a face scan though, probably from when he was at Liverpool or Chelsea.

Have spent a while on the mobile app on and off during the day coming up with my next team. It's been changed around several times due to players BPL players Dembele costing 5k still. A problem when my coin balance is 6.5k!
Eventually I have the team planned after several rejigs, and have several options for CB's and goalkeeper. Just a shame Valdes is still 5k. Will be using Mignolet or Vorm, or even could use my loan De Gea and swap to Adrian from West Ham. IF's will be IF Sven Kums and IF Agirrexte in a 4312 Pro League/BBVA/BPL mix up.
Have used only 433 variations and 4231 (2) for a good while so lack of width will take a little bit of getting used to again.

The latest winning team, and at their first attempt which is nice.

Was just one of those teams that seemed to click. Played really well. Managed to get it won before my loan contract on De Gea ran out. He seemed the best keeper i've used by a mile. Danny Rose provided some very important width. Granero passed beautifully, IF Kums was good enough, as was Defour. Vanaken was interesting. A 6‘4 CAM. Was different.
The two attackers were a good combination. Small and quick, Ezekiel. Bid and strong, IF Agirrexte.
Seemed like a very balanced and dangerous team.

4th Gold Cup winners:

http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/4010302/

This team really surprised me. Wasn't sure what to expect when I made it. I thought it might struggle but it was a case of the team being greater then the sum of it parts.

IF Fletcher was absolutely lethal in the box and put away some sweet finishes. Kind of reminded me of IF Senturk lasy year but Fletcher was a bit better. Zaha was a nice budget but skillful player. Sako was ok and scored a few. Bolasie would be the better option.

In midfield, Gerrard is great as ever, excellent passing, shooting and set pieces.
Sanson was average but Jedinak is a decent defensive midfielder. Not great passing but does a good job and is good in the air.
The defence was pretty good considering they weren't that highly rated. Gaddis did as good a job as a 69 rated fullback could be expected to. IF Sidibe was a good to use attacking fullback. Damien Da Silva is nothing special, but the other two excelled. Omar Gonzalez is a rock at CB. He is 6"5 and has a huge jumping stat. He loses NOTHING in the air at all.
IF Carrasso is a very good goalkeeper. Noticably better than the 76"rated non rares I've used previously.

Gold Cup winning team number 5:
http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/4160383/

A quick win for this team, taking only 5 games to win it, and then on the winning run scoring 12 and conceding 0.

Not a formation I often use and rare to start without a big target man type striker nowadays.
Star man was Darijo Srna. Every year he is the best all round full back you can possibly use, and this year is no exception. The guy is fantastic. Attack, defence, passing shooting, free kicks, corners, penalties. The guy does everything. Will again be the best full back I use all year. I have no doubts about that at all.
The strike force was ok. Bifouma is pace, but IF Charles is a strange one. Got a hattrick but did little else, but still enjoyed him strangely enough!
Taison was the main attacking threat and top scorer with 4 goals. A steal at 1000 coins. Rafinha was good at LCAM, but I suspect would be better in a different formation. Fred and Danilo were good as CDM and both popped up with a goal. Danilo was a true CDM while Fred roamed forward more to good effect.
The defence was solid despite all four having high attacking work rate which did worry me initially. Amavi was a 75 non rare 350 coin player and is average. Kaboul iis always good on FUT and no exception this year. IF Rakitskyi did what he had to do well, but wasn't really massively tested. IF Pantilimon seemed very good in goal and saved everything that came his way. His height helps him.
A nice team with the goals spread around seven players in the four matches. Got to come up with another team now!

Gold Cup winners number 6:

http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/4273852/

The second team so far to win it first go. Not a great team though. The defence felt weak and didn't feel strong of secure in the air. Paulo Oliveira is decent but the defence was saved on a number of occasions by Julio Cesar in goal, especially in the semi final where he was superb.
The two central midfielders, Tiago and Manuel Fernandes were both very good but would probably be best not playing together in a two. Some one bigger with a more physical presence would be great with the two of them in a three.
The two wide midfielders were IF Musa and the silver Zhang Chengdong. Zhang was ok, didn't really do much apart from getting the opening goal in the final from a header. IF Musa is very quick, and would be better as a winger of LF. The way FUT works though, he did ok defensively despite terrible defensive stats, but of course due to his 94 pace!
In attack, Manucho was pretty bad and didn't really get a sniff of goal in the four games. He was ok at holding the ball up but not one I'll use again. Doumbia is still stupidly OP this year. He's had a drop of 3 in his rating but have made him a H/L work rate. He seems perfectly positioned at all times, will pop up on the end of everything, normally unmarked. And he finishes everything! I think the thing with him is that people crap themselves when he's on the pitch and he just causes mass panic. And when he scores which was every game, people just allow themselves to become frustrated and that is the end of you in fifa. Only four matches but he is so so OP that it's stupid really.

Gold Cup Winners number 7:

http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/4686982/

Finally managed to win it with my remaining starter team. Haven't really used it much recently but decided to give them another run out and managed to win it after almost 120 matches with them!

Some decent players in there. Marco Matias is a decent winger with decent stats for someone not playing in the countries top division. All the Eredivisie players are good. I hated TOTS Ziyech on 15. He just didn't contribute anything. This time he was involved in everything, scored a load of goals and is my top assister. He always popped up in the box in dangerous positions. Locadia assisted a lot of goals for him and scored 49 himself, but sometimes he went missing. Decent.
El Ghazi is a big strong winger. 4* skills and weakfoot and enjoyable to use. Vejinovic scored a decent amount and scored a lot of free kicks.
Lopez and Damia weren't great. Lopez didn't do much and Damia felt awful on the ball and has suspect distribution.
All the Portuguese league players were pretty average. Oliviera was the best at CB and RB Jaoa Pereira is ok.

Thanks. Yeah, my luck in finals has been good this year so far. After that 17 final defeats without winning one in Fifa 15 where the most ridiculous stuff would often happen, I've done better than I expected so far. If I keep up my recent success rate, there'll be a lot more red on the list than black!

This is really impressive stuff mate. Love the hybrid challenge you've set yourself, good to know there's some proper creative teams being showcased in the cup.
My feed is constantly 'TWS has won a major tournament', lol.

Managed to win the El Clasico tournament that is on this weekend first attempt with this team:

http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/4837735/

A pretty suspect defence, but IF Bruno in the middle CM spot was really good. Excellent passing and very good tackling, coupled with M/H work rate. Perfect player for the role.
The other CM's were decent, with Oguzhan Ozyakup a very useful non rare.
The attack was dangerous. Pato seems very good again, not quite the level of old, but still good enough to be a constant threat. Michel Bastos is as one footed as ever but useful still, and on the right, Gokhan Tore showed why he is pain in the neck to defend against whenever I face him. He put away a fantastic first time shot into the top corner to level at 1-1 in the final.
Can't see myself using any of the Madrid or Barcelona players again. Sergi Roberto was good, and Adriano would be handy to link a hybrid. Navas in goal was thankfully better than last year!

Gold Cup number 8:

http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/4940089/

Took me a while to get used this team, and struggled to score initially.

Paloschi was decent up front, put away some good shots, but just felt he was missing something. Behind him was Mane. He scores 3 in his first 25 games and 8 in his next 4! Decent player but again, he is missing something. Pepe on the right was limited and didn't do much. On the left, Gervinho was a danger but finishing lets him down. His 4* skills have gone this year as well.
Wanyama is a rock as the defensive half of the midfield. Doesn't contribute much attacking wise but is excellent defensively. Didn't score once in 29 games, so no repeat of his 25 yard header that caused an instant rage quit last year! IF Steven Davis got up and down well, but only scored once. He struggles to finish, but did get a number of assists and enjoyed using him.
The defence was strong though. Ashley Cole is a shadow of his former self but still pretty decent really. Did some good work with Gervinho. IF Verhaegh is excellent and was more dangerous in attack than Pepe in front of him whilst still being good in defence. Also excellent with penalties.
The centre back pairing of Klavan (another decent one for the non rare thread) and the underused but excellent Howedes made this a strong team defensively. I don't understand why he never gets used! And IF Fahrmann is very good in goal. Recommended.

Latest winning team, this time the Movember Cup:

http://www.futhead.com/16/squads/5126410/

Crossed a good few of the more unused nationalities with this, Togo, Korea, Canada and Albania done. Also surprisingly the first Argentinian used as well in the 10th cup win. Frosinone also done in Serie A.

An ok team. Didn't really do much with IF Son. Not really a surprise though. He's one that has never really delivered for me in FUT. Adebayor got himself some goals as he always does for me. Opposite of Son! Quaresma is good, and scored one nice skill type goal but another that I know I don't get the maximum out of.
The midfield was ok considering. Ki is an excellent NR, Sosa opposite is another good NR, perfectly fine for 400 coins. IF Hutchinson was decent at CCM, performing the screening role. Very good option for a Turkish League side I would have thought. Excellent if you ever feel the need to make a Canadian side!
Diakite are both big, strong CB's. Pretty bad distribution but solid for discard price. Tabanou at LB was distinctly average, and the Albanina RB Hysaj, pretty much the same.
Perin in goal is pretty damn good! Had already used him in my seasons teams and he has games where he is absolutely unbeatable. Just makes impossible saves more than any other keeper I've used in 16. Played like this in Division 6 and again in this team, he WILL win you games. A huge, huge recommendation for him!
