I have a regular problem connecting to PSN, which is normally resolved in one of two ways.
I wondered if anyone else suffers this torturous pain in the arse, and knows of a better / quicker / more permanent solution?
I regularly switch on, attempt to sign in, and get a failure to connect error (forget the exact code - can post here later).
After much huffing and puffing a few months ago, I finally found that the following sometimes solves the issue:
1) Disconnect all hard wired devices from my hub,
2) Re-power the hub,
3) Re-connect the PS3
4) Start PS3
5) Sign into PSN
6) Re-connect all other hard wired devices
Sometimes this doesn't work.
In this event, I have to also disconnect all wireless devices from the network also (all seven of them!) and then follow steps 2) - 6), and then re-connect all wireless devices.
As you can see this is a ball-ache to say the least, and it happens a lot.
I believe it is caused by two devices being allocated the same MAC address, which then causes a conflict when the second one tries to connect. That being so, I cannot understand why it happens so often to the PS3, or is this a known design fault?
That said, my networking knowledge is fairly limited, and so I could be talking utter crap.
Anyone else have this issue? Found a quicker resolution to it?
Know why it might happen, or how to prevent it?
