Thanks Glad. Co-op makes it a 'nice experience' trying to score goals like that.

30 minutes into the first game with TOTS Suarez and he does this:

My Iniesta chip to the kid looked far more noobish than I was trying to do - wanted that low-ish ball. Suppose it worked out that Suarez can show off ::).

What do you do if you have faced Aubameyang, Robben and Ribery running full speed at your defence constantly for the whole match?

This game is so messed up! Knew it was a goal before it even went into his half. Exactly the same thing happened to me in FUT 13. Some serious BS right there!

Had this slightly comical game last night. Very rewarding in the end, as you'll see. Fella had the full Classico thing going on, Suarez up top had a training card on him and was a massive handful. Benzema was playing RW. I've a feeling he had a high rated, no chem CB but that may have been a different game....
Anyway, he started strong and gave me some problems with Iniesta, Benz and that trained Suarez, but I began to click and cut him open. Lots of chances and the reason for the vid save, the relationship I developed with his right post.

Main highlight for me was James spanking that post from 30 odd yds and Morata following it up with a 2nd hit. 1st shot was a doozy. Then there's the Kroos FK, club captain and main man, plus Guarin's great long range strike after refusing to be bullied off the ball.

Just watching it back, Cuz 3-5 Post. Left post managed to sneak one in that I missed.

This guy right here.... The love is so strong right now.

18 goals in 53 appearances atm. The main thing with that stat is where he's played- EVERYWHERE!
Initially used him at false 9, with a very different set of teammates. Was not his most starring role but he still delivered fairly consistently. Was enjoying the team tho and a lot of what was good about them came from his use of the ball
Next up was RCAM in 451. He was really good there. Made the most of his shooting ability and ofc, his passing was key to everything that went down the right and centre.
Then he went to LCM in 433(5). Again, he scored goals and circulated the ball perfectly. The only other guy in the team who really made much impact was Konoplyanka, that largely because he had Kroos as his supplier.
Now currently he's RCDM in 4231. Not much changes, still a playmaker extraordinaire and still popping in goals. This last strike the pick of all 18.
He's now showing more defensive capabilites as well, naturally. The game this goal comes from saw him achieve a MOTM 9.4 rating despite scoring just once and assisting neither of the other 2 goals, both scored by James. He didn't even have the most passes or highest completion %. He did have the most tackles with 3/3.

He's not going to latch onto through balls, he's not going to dribble past 5 defenders like Leo Messi, he's not going to chase down attackers or hold a midfield all on his own, he'll not win many headers. Otherwise he's perfect....

Nice one Cuz. Hitting great long shots this year (and scoring :)) is more of an art than previous iterations. Feels good to score one.

Kinda wish there was an "auto save favourite player's goals" setting. After each game, automatically record the goal - including the 'standard' replay as you've just shown - would happily wait an extra 30 seconds/minute. Kudos though to EA for improving the replays - finally!

Anyway, reason I say this is that Tevez is fast approaching 200 goals (179 in 174 with 40+ assists) - arguably our highest ever top goal scorer, given we've always changed teams so often! He hit a first time finesse from 20 yards - simply perfect in the bottom right - beating Begovic (our nemesis this year!).

I wouldn't mind spending a few hours making a montage then.

So, I know this may look noobish with that chipped throughball, but this is what we've always done (or attempted to do) with Van Basten, when the game is safe - chip it up and attempt those volleys.

Last night one paid off:

Sweet volley!

Here's a couple games then. Vids are obviously kinda long so if you are interested, be prepared to fall asleep.

Game 1.
This is one of the ones where nothing works. Pass speed was actually alright. It was foggy ofc, 3 out of the 1st 4 games I played with the A team last night were in the fog, which had me shaking my head.
I could note minute by minute the number of times the pass recipient was wrongly selected by the AI but that would take up most of the page, I started noting it mentally, 10 min, 15min, 19 min, 25 min... sod this. 35 min the wrong runner takes over the through ball and ruins the move.
Obviously I played some poor balls myself, towards the end of the game I was pretty dissolute and barely trying to play decent football. The main thing I noted at the time was my players touch and movement, releasing the ball in time was a real issue, as the game went on, I seemed to have so few options to do what i normally do. Early on, tackling and intercepting was the problem.
I actually take the lead with some prime sweat and then it really starts to go off. His 2nd goal is a comedy of errors.

Game 2.
So this is when things are working, note that I still don't win.
Main thing is that my players all seemed much more compact and more in control of the ball. The shorter passes were much more successful and generally going where I wanted, rather than behind or in front of my aim. I just didn't score enough. See the HT stats, 7 shots, 0 on target, despite several being clearly on target. Get some stupid AI choices and crucial misplaced balls in the final 3rd. Poor game from Isco, despite scoring my goal and hitting the bar, get caught on the ball with him constantly and make hardly any use of his passing.
His Shaqiri is surprisingly strong.
Beautifully dumb AI pass from Manolas at LCB on 48min. A few minutes later, he gets an almost cataclysmic auto switch from Callejon, intercepting a ball down the channel that Callejon looks like getting to 1st.
And yes, I still don't win. Naturally enough, he scores as soon as he gets a break.
Of course, tackling and intercepting were much more crisp as well but it helped that he was overly obsessed by pinging the ball fwd to Costa at every opportunity, it worked once after all.

Was gonna upload a 3rd game which I won, against a monster La Liga team, called 'When things go really well'. Played maybe not quite so much football as that 2nd one but simply got the breaks in my favour. Turned out I couldn't be arsed.
