@Kiwi - loving the Mexican Spanish mate!  Love it..

It is fantastic, hey! Honestly, I feel it adds a new dimension to the game hearing them, learning the relevant word & them players names :D! Eventually, you'll be repeating the words like za-pa-ta-zo ... (yes, with the slight pauses) which means "fierce kick" btw :D. The shouting of names when scoring still gets me joining me! Per your first one ... a quick "Carlitos Tevez" ... "GOOOOOOOOL" ... "Teveeeezz" ... "goooool" "Carlitos". Hilarious stuff!

Cuz ... that is probably the most painful game to play - lag + daft opponent! After the first few minutes, I was wondering if he'd even pass the ball. Obviously he was not struggling with lag with those runs & skill moves. Good first goal there too & run with Higuain - didn't know what was coming when you mentioned "55th min" :). Also, nice try in baiting him there at the end :D.

That's an absolute beauty. My favourite kind of goal to score, that.

Thanks mate ... it's one of the great benefits of years of co-op play. Once the kid knocked it wide to Neymar, I was controlling him and made the run back in. Having played quite a bit of solo games over these last few weeks, you simply know that at times, the AI is good, however nothing beats 2 human brains controlling players on the field.

Well now, I quite enjoyed that game tbh. My players were zipping the ball about quite nicely, if not always where intended, the runs were good, I felt quite confident about beating him and scoring a few...

This one, on the other hand... A classic encounter of the turd kind.

This was his 'team'.

You know before you even watch it.

Understood. Maybe I'm just getting old :). That visual lag hurts my brain & I simply get annoyed because I think people should be 'better' at the game. If it's too easy, I see that as a waste of time. That sounds quite 'elitist' ... yep, it is. Oops. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He he ... indeed! Don't get me wrong, we simply NEED these people to earn us valuable points.

I suppose there are different levels of 'them'. That dude the runner/skiller simply didn't have a clue. I like my ... cannon fodder ... with a little more substance :D.

Let's just say the lag was more off-putting than the basement-quality level of the player.

Listen chaps... when you're as bad as me, you love coming up against someone easier to beat...
Nice to win by more than one goal once in a while..  ;D

D6-D7-D6 is my playground this season...

Actually... hang on, I think I might be the basement level cannon fodder you're talking about...

Nah, surely not.

Naah mate ... your build-up play shown in your vids, definitely shows you ain't cannon fodder. There's a quality level of football - our brains are wired that way - the "play beautiful" makes more sense to us than most.

IMO, the majority of times we lose, is due to the opponent try to abuse an aspect of the game. For example, corners ... when the 2nd player is there, how many times does your opponent NOT pass to him? At least 70% of the times, its the short pass, run or skill into the box ... waiting for a penalty, or ... another corner. Rinse. Repeat.

No - thankfully I very rarely have the man short - not exactly sure why. Even then, I simply cross it.

On co-op, we do have a routine. A number of opponents are focused on the man outside the box & very often leaves the man closest to the keeper, unmarked. 2nd person controls him & the kick taker drives it in, whilst the forward moves towards the ball and slightly away from the goal. A finesse shot has proven to be 'most useful'. :D

In solo, I generally use the built-in tactics and hope for the best. Well, if they're not covering the player outside the box. I always drive the ball there, if he's not marked.

I either go short, or the man outside, like you say.
Pinging it into the box and hoping for the best rarely, or rather never, pays dividends.

If I am playing a dribbling maniac, or an HP t**t, I start going short.

I have no shame against those w****rs.
